Individual Therapy for Adults
As a child therapist I have an understanding of the emotional needs of children and therefore can understand how negative experiences in childhood can have a devastating impact on an adult’s development. In particular, I help adult survivors of childhood abuse understand how their current difficulties can be related to the past. Through supportive therapy, they can heal from childhood trauma and learn how to identify strengths and skills that can help them now, in their present lives. If you are an adult survivor of childhood abuse, please know that you are not alone and that help is available.
Family Therapy
Family life is both messy and joyous. If your child or teen is having a difficult time, chances are you are also struggling to understand and cope with the changes that your child is experiencing. When I work with children and teens, I also consult with parents to help them understand and support their children. If appropriate, I may recommend family therapy to address family interactions that may be contributing to your child’s mental health issues.
